浜松市は、ユネスコ創造都市ネットワーク音楽分野の加盟を目指して「浜松世界青少年音楽祭2014」を開催致します。
この音楽祭は、１９９１年に浜松市制施行８０周年を記念して開催し、その後、音楽のまちづくりを進めるために、ほぼ５年毎に開かれている国際的文化事業です。音楽を通じて青少年をはじめとする多くの市民との交流を深め、国際親善を図るとともに、世界の音楽文化の振興、さらには「音楽の都・浜松」を内外に発信することを目的としています。
今回5回目となる音楽祭は、今年4月に音楽文化交流に関する覚書を締結したボローニャ市、観光友好都市の台北市をはじめ、5か国・地域から5団体と、国内を代表する合唱団2団体をお招きしております。
市内3会場で行われるサテライトコンサート、友好都市と市内音楽団体が集うフレンドシップコンサート、世界や日本から優秀な団体が演奏を披露し、音楽監督の新実徳英氏の委嘱曲『Salve Regina（サルべレジーナ）』と『さくら』（オーケストラ伴奏）を出演団体が合同で演奏するファイナルコンサートなどを予定しております。
世界の素晴らしい音楽が、国境を越えた友情を育む機会となりますことを期待しています。
最後に「音楽の都・浜松」の更なる飛躍に向けて、皆様方の一層のご支援とご協力を賜りますようお願い申し上げます。
Hamamatsu City is holding the Hamamatsu World Youth Music Festival 2014 as it aims to become affiliated with the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Music.
This music festival was held in 1991 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Hamamatsu’s establishment, and since then, it has been an international cultural project held every 5 years to promote musical city development. Through music, citizen interaction, beginning with youths, is improved and international goodwill is striven for, while world music culture is also promoted. Moreover, a goal of the festival is to disseminate “City of Music, Hamamatsu” both domestically and abroad.
For what is now the 5th music festival, 2 representative domestic chorus groups are being invited, along with 5 groups from 5 countries/regions, including Bologna, a city with which we signed a memorandum of understanding regarding music culture exchange in April of this year, and Taipei, a tourism friendship exchange city.
It is planned for there to be satellite concerts at three venues in the city, friendship concerts gathering friendship exchange cities with music groups in the city, performances by excellent groups from both Japan and around the world, and a final concert where participating groups will perform music director Tokuhide Niimi’s commissioned songs “Salve Regina” and “Sakura” (with orchestral accompaniment) together.
I expect that this will be an opportunity for the wonderful music of the world to foster friendships across national borders.
Lastly, I ask to be kindly granted the continued support and cooperation of everyone towards the further advancement of “City of Music, Hamamatsu.”

音楽は人間の歴史と共に始まり、絶えることなく今に至っています。私たちは音楽を通して、もうこの世にはいない過去の偉大な音楽家と出会うことができます。また、今を生きている世界中の人たちと音楽という共通の言葉でつながることができます。私たちは生きるということにおいては限りある存在ですが、音楽に関わることで、それがたとえささやかな活動でも、大きな音楽という芸術の流れに加わることができるのです。そしてこの流れは過去から未来へ永遠に続いていくと私は信じています。
そして、そのような音楽への愛と確信を抱いた青少年を、海外からと国内からお招きし、市内の青少年の音楽団体と共に、ここ浜松で音楽祭を開催することは大きな喜びです。
ところで、この音楽祭が開幕する8月15日はちょうど69年前あの悲惨な戦争を終えた日です。戦時中、空襲によって市街地の大半が焦土と化す中で奇跡的に生き残った3本のプラタナスの木が市内各所に移され植えられています。そのうちの1本はこの会場の近く、浜松駅北口西側で見ることができます。戦後、復興のシンボルとして市民に希望を与え続けたプラタナスの木は今日も緑の葉を豊かに繁らせています。プラタナスの木は無言で平和の大切さを語っているように私には思えます。
青少年には限りない可能性に満ちた未来があります。音楽を通しての交流が、これからの豊かで平和な世界を作ることに貢献できるものと信じています。そして、この音楽祭がプラタナスの木のように世界平和と希望のシンボルであるようにと願っています。
Music was born as human history started, and has never vanished since. Through music, we are able to meet the past great musicians who are no longer of this world. And through music as a common language, we can connect to people all over the globe. Although our lives are short and limited, we are able to join the huge flow of art called music once we join a musical activity even modestly. And I believe that this current of music from past to future will continue to flow forever.
It is a great pleasure to hold the musical festival with groups of youths here in Hamamatsu and to welcome young people with love and belief for music from overseas and Japan.
By the way, August 15, which is the day of this festival’s opening, was the last day of the former tragic war 69 years ago. Though the city of Hamamatsu was burned to the ground by the air-raids during the war, 3 plane trees have survived miraculously. And they were moved and planted in various places of the city. One of them is at the west side of the north exit of Hamamatsu station, which is very close from ACT city Hamamatsu, the venue of this festival. The trees have given hopes to the citizens of Hamamatsu as the symbol of restoration after the war, and they still have luxuriant green leaves today. It seems to me that the plane trees are silently teaching us the importance of peace.
Young people have limitless possibilities awaiting in the future. I believe that the exchange among people through music will contribute to make the world full of abundance and peace. And I hope that Hamamatsu World Youth Musical Festival to be a symbol of world peace and hope as 3 plane trees.

祝祭に寄せて
浜松世界青少年音楽祭2014！世界中から音楽を愛する子どもたち・若者たちが集いました。互いに演奏し、聴き合い、交流を深める。この豊かで貴重な三日間を存分に過ごしてくれることでしょう。
浜松市を上げてのこの意義深い、大きな祝祭に一音楽人として心よりの敬意と感謝を表したく思います。それは、ここで生まれる「佳き場」、「佳き時間」が彼らの成長にかけがえのないものを与えてくれるに違いないと思うからです。現在から未来へ向かっての祝祭なのです！
委員、スタッフの皆様方が素晴らしいプログラミングをして下さいました。参加者のみならず、聴衆の皆様にも、この音楽祭ならではの内容を楽しんでいただけるものとなったと信じています。
記念すべき「佳き日々」を、各々に自らのうちに刻み込めますように願っています。
Greetings to the festival
Hamamatsu World Youth Music Festival 2014! Music loving children and youths from all over the globe have gathered. In this event, they perform, listen to the performances of other groups and deepen exchanges with one another. I am sure that the participants will make the most of this fruitful and precious three days.
As a musician, I would like to express a deep respect and gratitude to this meaningful, big festival held by all Hamamatsu city. Because I think that “good place” and “good time” born here will give them irreplaceable things for their growth. This is a festival of the present towards the future!
Members of the committee and the staff of this festival have arranged excellent programs. I believe that not only the participants but also the audience will enjoy the content that this music festival can only offer.
I hope that the commemorable “good days” will be engraved in minds of every participant and audience.
開催趣旨
浜松世界青少年音楽祭は、1991年より概ね５年毎に、音楽のまちづくりを進める浜松市が開催した国際的文化事業である。今回は、ユネスコ創造都市ネットワーク加盟を目指している浜松市が、「音楽創造都市・浜松」の実現を目指して2014年に開催する。
この音楽祭は、アジアを中心とした世界各国、ユネスコ創造都市ネットワーク加盟都市及び音楽友好都市から音楽を愛好する優秀な青少年音楽団体を浜松に招聘し、音楽を通じて浜松市民及び青少年との交流、国際親善を図るとともに、世界の音楽文化の発展及び浜松市民の音楽文化の向上と音楽のまちづくりの推進、さらには“音楽の都･浜松”を内外に発信することを目的とする。
The Hamamatsu World Youth Music Festival is an international cultural project organized by Hamamatsu City, which promotes development as a city of music, and has been running in general every five years since it began in 1991.
The Hamamatsu World Youth Music Festival 2014 is held this year as Hamamatsu is currently striving for affiliation with the UNESCO Creative Network, as “A Creative City of Music: Hamamatsu”.
This music festival invites talented music loving youth choirs from many countries
around the world, with a focus on Asia and also including UNESCO Creative Cities Network affiliated cities and music exchange cities to Hamamatsu. The goals of this festival, with international goodwill in mind and together with providing an opportunity for Hamamatsu citizens to exchange with young musicians through music, are to promote the development of world music culture, and cultural enhancement in music of Hamamatsu citizens, and the development of a city of music. Further, we host this event with the aim to further promote Hamamatsu’s existence as the ‘City of Music: Hamamatsu” both domestically and internationally.

名古屋生まれ。
東京大学工学部卒業後音楽の道へ進み、東京芸術大学作曲科卒業。同大学院修了。
1974年NET-TV作曲コンクール入賞。77年ジュネーブ国際バレエ音楽作曲コンクールにて史上2人目のグランプリ並びにジュネーブ市賞を受賞。82年文化庁舞台芸術創作奨励賞並びに特別賞を受賞。83年ジュネーブ国際バレエ音楽作曲コンクールの審査委員を務める。84年度文化庁芸術祭優秀賞受賞。IMCに入選。2000年第18回中島健蔵音楽賞受賞。03年別宮賞受賞。04年「風神･雷神」のCDが文化庁芸術祭大賞を受賞。05年万博記念オペラ「白鳥」が名古屋において世界初演され、この公演に佐川吉男音楽賞が授与される。06年オーケストラ･アンサンブル金沢のコンポーザー･イン･レジデンスに就任し、「協奏的交響曲～エランヴィタール～」を世界初演し、第55回尾高賞を受賞。管弦楽作品の多くは、国内ではNHK交響楽団を初め主要なオーケストラ、海外でもスイス･ロマンド、オランダ放送、BBCスコティッシュ、フランス国立放送、ベルリン、ニュールンベルグ等のオーケストラにより演奏され、それぞれ高い評価を得ている。
現在、桐朋学園大学院大学教授。桐朋学園大学、同短期大学非常勤講師、東京音楽大学客員教授。

Remarkably, his orchestral works have been domestically performed by the NHK Symphony Orchestra and others, and in oversea countries they also have been performed by some of the leading orchestras, such as the Suisse Romande, Netherlands Radio, BBC Scottish, Radio France, Berlin, Nurnberg, etc. In particular, he is one of the most popular composers in the world of choral music, and his pieces have been constantly performed all over the country.
He is at present a professor at the graduate school of Toho Gakuen, a guest Professor at the Tokyo College of Music.
委嘱作品
Salve Regina作曲/新実 徳英Composer / Tokuhide NIIMI
浜松バンド維新の委嘱により＜アヴェ・マリア＞（2009年）、同じく＜アヴェ・マリア―ヴィルゴ・セレーナ＞（2014年）を作曲し、このたび当音楽祭の委嘱により＜サルヴェ・レジーナ＞を作曲しました。これもまた聖母マリアを慕う歌であり、以上3曲を合わせて≪マリア三部作≫と名付けることにしました。
今回の曲はイントロダクションを含めると、5部の構成で作られています。編成は女声3部合唱を軸にオプショナルな男声パート、そしてオーケストラによるものとなりました。
私はキリスト者ではありませんが、この曲の歌詞も「あわれみの母」への深い思慕であり、この想いはキリスト教を超えて共有できるものではないかと思って選んだのでした。
できる限り美しい歌・音楽を聖母マリアに捧げたいと願いました。
500人を超える子どもたち・若者たちの熱唱・熱演が会場に響きわたる、その瞬間が楽しみでなりません。
Commissioned by Hamamatsu Band Restoration, I composed "Ave Maria" in 2009 and "Ave Maria―Virgo Serena" in 2014. For this festival, I wrote Salve Regina which is also paying tribute to Virgin Maria, and that is why I put these three songs together and named "Maria trilogy".
Including the introduction, this piece contains five parts. And it is composed of 3 part female chorus as a core with an optional male chorus and an orchestra. Lyrics are adoration for compassionate mother. Though I am not a Christian, I chose Virgin Maria as a theme, because I thought yearning for the affectionate mother would be universal and transcend the framework of Christianity. I wanted to dedicate a song/music to Virgin Maria as beautiful as possible.
I am really looking forward to the moment that enthusiastic singing voices of over 500 children and youths resound through the hall.
